L.A. Rush is the next installment in a long line of popular arcade racing titles made famous in past generations. It was developed internally by the team at Midway, and it is the next installment in the series. L.A. Rush is a racing video game in recognizable Los Angeles areas, including Beverly Hills, Compton, Hollywood, LAX, and Santa Monica. The game offers players the opportunity to participate in various game modes, the most prominent of which is a free-roaming mission-based gameplay system. Other features include highly destructible settings and objects, over fifty officially licensed street and concept automobiles, plus the creative contribution of Ride Magazine and West Coast Customs.
